Molecular Imaging Chemistry Laboratory (MICL)

Sophie obtained her BSc in Biology at the University of British Columbia in Canada, graduating in 2020. She then went on to do an MRes in Translational Neuroscience at University College London (UCL) where she completed her project in neuroimaging.  This looked at observing atrophy across the lifetime of Huntington’s disease (HD) patients using 3T structural MRI scans. Afterwards she worked as an RA at the HD centre working with HD patients on the Enroll-HD study which ignited a passion for working in HD. This has lead her to MICL in May 2023 as a graduate student with Prof. Aigbirhio and in collaboration with Prof. Roger Barker, looking at the application of PET tracers in Huntington’s disease.
