Soluble α-synuclein aggregates varying in size, structure, and morphology have been closely linked to neuronal death in Parkinson’s disease. A reliable non-perturbative method to separate a heterogeneous mixture of protein aggregates by size had been established between members of Professor Klenerman’s lab and Dr Yanyan Zhao of Professor Aigbirhio’s group. The method has been validated by single molecular high-resolution microscopy in the Klenerman’s lab. Yanyan also contributed to the TEM imaging of difference size of protein aggregates.
