Molecular Imaging Chemistry Laboratory (MICL)

Catherine completed her BSc at the Unversity of Melbourne, majoring in chemistry. Following her undergraduate degree, Catherine undertook a research internship in the Jason Lewis Lab at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Institute where she worked with zirconium-89 labelled antibodies for PET imaging of pancreatic cancer. Catherine graduated with a MSc of Chemistry (with distinction) from the University of Melbourne in collaboration with Andrew Scott’s Tumour Targeting Lab at the Austin Hospital, where she developed fluorine-18 PET agents for glioblastoma and was awarded the prize for best thesis.

Catherine started a PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2022 under the supervision of Professor Franklin Aigbirhio in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences. She is supported by the Cambridge Australia Trust Bragg Scholarship. Catherine is working on the synthesis and evaluation of fluorine-18 ligands for the management of Huntington’s disease.
