Molecular Imaging Chemistry Laboratory (MICL)

The Molecular Imaging Chemistry Laboratory (MICL, Dept of Clinical Neuroscience) at the University of Cambridge and GE Healthcare have entered into an agreement in which members of the GE Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Diagnostics, R&D Radiochemistry team will become visiting research scientists based at the MICL facility. The GE team will be undertaking research in the development of novel radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic medical imaging for Position Emission Tomography (PET). In addition to undertaking GE Healthcare specific projects, future plans include collaborative projects between the GE and MICL groups and training Cambridge researchers in GE technology methods. “This builds on the excellent and productive collaborations we have had with GE over the last 10 years and creates a platform for closer ties“ says Professor Franklin Aigbirhio, Director of the MICL.

“We are excited to be strengthening our collaborations with the MICL team and to be able to perform radiopharmaceutical development projects within the MICL facility at the University of Cambridge.” says Dr Julian Grigg, Head of Radiochemistry, GE Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Diagnostics, R&D.
