Molecular Imaging Chemistry Laboratory (MICL)

ISRS 2019

From 26th to 31st May Prof. Aigbirhio and four group members, Matt Hird, Steve Kealey, Stephen Thompson and Selena Sephton attended the biannual ISRS conference in Beijing, China.

All four presented posters on their recent research results, and Steve and Stephen’s posters were specially selected by the committee for the rapid fire poster presentations. Steve disclosed the data on novel PET agents targeting CNS stem cells for imaging multiple sclerosis and Stephen’s presentation was on novel PET agents targeting oligomeric tau for imaging dementia.

Matt received funding from the ARUK, Steve was awarded the Charles Slater travel grant, Stephen was granted the funds from the ISRS research committee and Selena travelled to Beijing as a part of her Returning Carers scheme award.

The ISRS conference is the largest conference for PET Radiochemistry and Beijing was an interesting location to explore and enjoy local flavours.
